This world is not our final resting place. As believers we are on our way home to our final rest. Like Israel we are living between our liberation and our final home. This sermon looks at how God makes us his people by grace, and then guides us to live as his people by grace. While we travel through this life, God is graciously and powerfully working in your life to prepare you for the promised land. We must choose where our affection and allegiance lies -- is it here in this land, or is it with God in the land that is to come?

In this sermon we see God's providence and power to keep his promise to Abraham, which was to make Abraham into a great nation and to settle him in a promised land. Exodus continues the storyline of Genesis. Though God's promise is threatened by Pharaoh, God time and again preserves his promise. The good news is God still preserves his promise today. Our response is to love, fear, and obey the Promise-keeping God, and not fake Pharaohs and false gods that demand our obedience and allegiance.
