The growing of the kingdom is not dependent on you, or on me. Isn’t that reassuring, the kingdom will grow because that’s what the kingdom does.

Jesus invites us all to be part of his family. He wants those he gathers around him in pursuit of the kingdom, those he calls mother, brother and sister, to join him in the advance of God’s kingdom and to be those, who, in spite of fears from within and misunderstandings and opposition from without, are glad to be on the inside with Jesus and to become courageous pilgrims following in his footsteps. Will you and I accept the invitation Jesus gives us?

In this we are one, enriched by our many languages and ethnicities, but one in our common humanity. In this we are one, attuned to different patterns of prayer and listening, but one in the Good News that we have heard. In this we are one, each in our own place but one in our calling to be God’s people. In this we are one, as the Spirit heals our divisions, open our ears, and renews us in our vocation.

'Like every good parent, God is waiting and ready to listen to our expression of love, our worries, our concerns, our needs, and we can communicate these to him through prayer.'

Remember to keep your eyes on the Lord and listen to the call to intimate discipleship. For it's that radical encounter that’ll enable our souls to find rest and, in the future, will lead us to the safety of God’s coming kingdom.

Marie is a member of our facilities team at Central Hall Westminster and with her colleagues, she has been keeping our historic building in great shape throughout the pandemic. We chat a little about Marie's work in the building, what it will look like when we return and what brought this talented ballerina to the UK.
