Love sustains, when other things won’t.

Love heals when other things won’t.

Love forgives when other things won’t.

And love – love for God, love for God’s people, and love for all people is at the heart of Methodist discipleship. If you forget all else I’ve ever said to you, please remember this.

‘Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord, your labour is not in vain.’

We need to allow our Lord to re-programme us! For it’s ONLY the Fruit of the Holy Spirit that’ll enable us to BE Jesus people, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit that’ll empower us to Do the kingdom’s work in challenging days

The reality of Christ’s presence does not depend on our seeing him.

But he comes to speak that same word of “peace” into our situation, today, as He did to those first disciples.

The beatitudes are about our relationships, our relationships with our selves, with others, and with God.

When Jesus says ‘you are the salt of the earth’ he is clearly intending his people to be engaged in the world in which we live,

for him and for good.

Easter puts an end to hopelessness, to despair, and places love and peace and hope and joy as the keystone of all reality.
