  • The Rev. Margery Kennelly: Psalm 25
Psalm 25: 1-10 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust; do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me. Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long. Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for your goodness’ sake, O Lord! Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his decrees. Sermon from the 8:45am service.

  • The Rev. Joe Ananias: The Way Things Really Are
When Jesus is transfigured, this is not simply a one-off miracle where Jesus’s clothes become a little brighter. This is a moment where the disciples are allowed to glimpse the way things really are. They’re allowed for a moment to see what is ordinarily unseen but what is in fact most real. They’re allowed for a moment to see that this man with whom they’ve worked and eaten and shared in ministry is none other than very God himself. Sermon from The Table.

  • The Rev. J. Malone Gilliam: Assurance
One of the Holy Spirit’s primary missions is to give us assurance concerning our inclusion in Christ. Post-Communion Prayer from The Book of Common Prayer (p. 366): Almighty and everliving God, we thank you for feeding us with the spiritual food of the most precious Body and Blood of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; and for assuring us in these holy mysteries that we are living members of the Body of your Son, and heirs of your eternal kingdom. And now, Father, send us out to do the work you have given us to do, to love and serve you as faithful witnesses of Christ our Lord. To him, to you, and to the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen. Sermon from The Table.
