In this message, George Smith explores Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28–30 to come to Him with our weariness and burdens and find rest for our souls. We are reminded that Jesus meets us in the midst of the visible and hidden burdens we carry: fear, anxiety, guilt, regret, loneliness and uncertainty.

And God invites us into a beautiful exchange: we surrender what is heavy and receive His peace, forgiveness, love, presence and rest. Through the powerful picture of placing our burdens at the cross, George challenges us not to pick them up again, but to trust Jesus and rest in His promise to walk with us through every circumstance.

Through David's successes and failures, we'll discover that hearing God is not about techniques but relationship. David's life ultimately points us to Jesus, the true Shepherd-King who perfectly listened to and obeyed the Father.

In this fourth message, "The Cost of not Asking," David's greatest failure begins with a striking absence: he does not inquire of the Lord. Instead of listening, he drifts. Instead of seeking God, he follows desire. Sin often starts long before the visible fall—it begins when we stop paying attention to God. In Gethsemane Jesus faces temptation and suffering but remains surrendered: "Not my will, but yours be done." Where David grasped for control, Jesus trusted the Father completely.

In this third sermon, "Guidance in the Wilderness," we see David pause to seek God's direction in a moment of danger, uncertainty, and betrayal. This becomes the defining habit of his leadership. Jesus likewise withdraws to pray before making crucial decisions. The message is simple but profound: when the future is unclear, seek God's presence before seeking answers.
