Paul instructs Timothy (and us) that we are called to proclaim the Gospel not just in sound teaching but by our conduct and our honor for each other within the household of God.
We see in Paul's first letter to Timothy that they have a shared purpose to see God's Kingdom built up and to ensure the teachings of Jesus remain steadfast.
