"This Easter season is wrapping up. This time where we

formally observe the resurrection of Jesus, and that is our reason for being,

and now we have this Pentecost day and its like a big, holy 'now what.'"

Acts 2:1-21

we question what really happened we are totally missing the point. Because this

point of the story, its said in a prayer that is said on Ascension Day if we

gather as a community, that Christ ascended above the Heavens so that he might

fill all things..."

at the world, at the ordinary people and their ordinary lives, because that is

where they were most likely to find him. Not the way they used to know him, but

in this new way. Not in his own body, but in their bodies. The risen ascended

suffering on another person. But if we are true to following Jesus, viewed like

the early church, we'll find ourselves at odds, suffering for the sake of

Christ."

question: From what? What's Jesus saving us from? Do you know? Do you know for

you? Not what the church says in the book, not what you think you're supposed

to say, not what's the right answer. Do you know why you're here? Not just to

hear Psalms sung beautifully. Not just to partake in a ritual that your mom

taught you, or that you went with grandpa to church. That's beautiful but

that's not why you've been gathered together in Jesus' name. That is not what

God is doing in your life. He's not just helping you live out the rest of your

days in the midst of ritual. You've been called into a life of love and

connection. Why?"
