God's grace for us means that no matter how many times we walk out of church leaving our discipleship behind us, God will give us yet another opportunity to live more fully into it.

Our faith gives us the courage to face our fears.

"The here and now is a gift--that's why it's called the present."

What would the world look like if we went to God, with the concerns and the

prayers of those we dislike, of those who are different, of those who

worship differently and live differently and love differently, what if we

went to God ON THEIR BEHALF.  If we asked for them to be healed in the way

that THEY needed it, not in the way that WE think they need it..

And we take communion far beyond this table when we share that message – the message that EVERYONE is worthy of God’s grace and love. The message that NO ONE need be separated from the presence of God by human made rules and creeds. We invite people to the table to make sure that they leave filled with the spirit and the strength and the grace and the love of God. And we leave the table, still hungering for God

But what we see from this idea is that the only way things will change is if we change the way we react. When we retaliate with violence or vengeance we become that which we are fighting.

How often have we heard people say that workers should just quit complaining about conditions because they should feel fortunate just to have a job? How many people today put up with sub-standard conditions because they know if they leave the job they have, they are not likely to find another?

When we let the light of God in it touches us in those places that we

thought we would keep hidden forever that nobody would ever ever ever see.

Our deepest, darkest secrets. God’s love light shines in on us and those

things that we thought we would keep hidden forever become the very things

that God uses to transform our lives and the lives of other people.

There are spaces between us that can only be filled by reaching out with love to someone else. There are bridges that can only be crossed when we are willing to take the first tentative steps across. There are hurts in this world that can only be healed when we recognize that every one of us is a precious child of God. Every one of us

God is calling us out of our way to go explore. Calling us out of our comfortable life and take a risk. To allow God to call us to something more than we are, bigger than we are. To allow God to call us to something we think, perhaps, like Moses, we cannot do.
