Jesus lays it on the line in this passage with regards to what He demands of those who will come to Him and be His disciples. The bottom line is that everything you are and have has to be entrusted to Him. It will cost you everything... but the reward is even greater. Jesus goes once more into the home of a Pharisee, this time a leader of the Pharisees, where He is set to up to break their Sabbath regulations so they can accuse Him. Jesus, though, turns the situation on its head and once again exposes their hypocrisy.

With Abraham dead, the focus on the covenant promise of God moving on goes from Isaac to the next generation. Listen again to how Isaac's children came into the world and how God was sovereignly at work in them before they were even born.
