If you’re like most Americans, you’ve made vows to others and/or to God but you have broken them. Read the Bible and you’ll see that you are in good company. Scripture Lesson: Matthew 16:13-19
People on the street believe that if they do enough good works, they will go to heaven. This is something they actually pick up from what the Bible teaches: good works are required to enter heaven. But what about faith in Christ alone aside from works to get into heaven? We must hear about what Christ did before He even came to the cross to understand this issue. Good works are required to get into heaven but because of our sin Christ had to do them in our place for salvation.
New Testament Lesson: Romans 5:18-19
The reality of the Universal Church is comforting because God maintains it necessarily.
Scripture Lesson: 1 Kings 19:1-18
The Sabbath years and Jubilee years of rest and release point forward to Christ’s work of atonement on the cross, which grants release from sins now and final rest in the New Heavens and Earth.
