Are you caught in the riptide of sin? The worst thing you can do is swim against the current. You need help. And there is only one way to access the rescue you need. The poor in spirit are blessed. The proud in spirit are cursed. At some point, every person needs to admit their total bankruptcy before God and call for help!

It is easy to get lazy with sin. Sin is all around us and, frankly, in us. And familiarity can breed indifference. Yet, God never grows accustomed to our sins. They are just as offensive and unfitting to Him as they were when He punished His own Son on the cross for them. And this means people that have repented from sin and put faith in Christ must learn to live differently from the world. They must learn to call sin what God calls sin… and relentlessly kill it.

There is always a temptation to believe things in our head about God and religion, while we act in ways completely contrary to that. This kind of hypocrisy has no place in the church of Jesus and wise Christians will fight against it all the way to the grave. Foundational to learning to live like a Christian is more accurately understanding your identity - who you are as a child of the King.

Psalm 116 is all about thankfulness to God for how He saves us. When the Psalmist had no one to turn to and nowhere to run, He called to God, and the LORD saved. Now those, like the Psalmist, who have experienced the rescue of the LORD are to live in perpetual greatness for His saving grace.

King David sinned grievously, but he confessed his sin. Psalm 32 is an instruction manual given to guide us to confess our sin.

Christians are never meant to walk in isolation. We are called to stand together with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It's when we are disconnected and alone that we're most vulnerable to the attacks of our spiritual enemy. In 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5, Paul stresses the importance of standing together in order to endure affliction.
