We are to become what we are already declared to be in Jesus. Our active obedience is essential to our finally being saved. We preach the gospel to save the lost and to save the saved.

Come to Jesus and be refreshed, then go and be refreshing. Jesus is the only provision for dry, parched, thirsty souls. Physical thirst is quenched by drinking water, but spiritual thirst is quenched by drinking Christ.

Jesus Christ and His mercy to sinners must be the governing reality for pastoral identity and ministry.
