Paul reminds the people of Rome what Isaiah told the Israelites in the Old Testament. It wasn't easy for them to hear and if we take it to heart it won't be easy for us to hear either.

Instead of asking God to take away the storm Paul sees the storm as a way to see God's provision.

Paul struggles with challenge after challenge but he stays the course. A major lesson from Paul's life is that sometimes we need to learn to roll with the punches.

Paul knows his message and his audience and his own story to the point that he uses all of it to keep the kingdom message in front of everyone.

No one should complain when the pastor preaches too long. Not a pastor today I know who's preached so long someone fell asleep and fell out the window.

Do we do worship the way the Bible teaches? Do we react to the things of worship in a way that shows we truly understand how big God is?

Do we assume that everyone just gets it when it's not something they've grown up with like us?

When it comes to believing in Jesus, we tend to set up structures that really aren't the most important thing. They might be helpful and promote order and unity but are they essential? Probably not.

Does your love for God shine through what you say and do? It should!
