What does it mean to live such good lives that provokes the questions 'What is the reason of the hope that is within you?'

Our identity is missional and deeply tied in with God’s purposes throughout redemption history. Our identity shapes the purpose of our lives, and this identity and purpose influences what we should do in the ordinary everyday moments of life.

We have a new identity therefore, we should live lives that reflect the one who gave us this new identity through Jesus. We can't do this on our own but in gospel community and we are not to live it out in isolation but amongst the communities that God has placed us.

Josh Walsh kicks off our new six-week series in 1 Peter, leading us through an overview of the letter as well as emphasising our missional identity as God's elect exiles.

In our hearts, we all ask “What must we do to inherit eternal life?” We might ask it in different ways. We might search for answers in different places. Jesus answers, a man who asked this very question: LOVE GOD with everything you’ve got and LOVE PEOPLE as much as you love yourself. Then Jesus teaches us all through the Story of the Good Samaritan.
