David's three episodes of escape in I Samuel 19:8-24 remind us that, through Jesus Christ, we can exclaim with David, "The Lord is...my shield."

While the story of David and Goliath is a familiar one, many miss the main point: God is our champion, and He will always fight for us according to His promises...no matter the odds.
