Tremendous hope is found in the reality of the coming of Christ’s Kingdom. This sermon looks at the character of that Kingdom, something a little different than what the crowds were looking for during his triumphal entry on what we celebrate as Palm Sunday.

The apostle Paul referred to our earthly lives as “tents”. What awaits us is our eternal “building”. This sermon looks at the longing that exists in every one of us for our eternal home.

As Christ’s followers we are spiritually seated at the right hand of the Father. Our Father loves us with a steadfast love that we are to put our hope in. But what is that hope supposed to look like? This sermon gives us a biblical description of what our hope should look like.

Our only truly reliable source of hope is God. So we’re told in the Word to put our hope in Him. This sermon looks at two significant reasons why we should: God’s power and His love.

Because we are seated at the Father’s right hand… what? This sermon looks at five results of our spirits being seated next to God in Christ, a concept that it crucial to our perspective as God’s children.

Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes about his perspective from a place he called “under the sun”. At that point he was viewing life from an earthly perspective, something Paul contradicts in Ephesians 1 and 2 when he speaks of us being “seated at the right hand of the Father in the heavenly places in Christ." This sermon explores what that means to God’s children.

“Vanity of vanities, all is vanity!” These are the words of a man who had achieved and accumulated everything imaginable. Why would these words be coming from the mouth of a man who had been given so much by God? This sermon looks at this “vanity” theme in the book of Ecclesiastes and the significance Solomon’s discovery has for our lives.

As we enter our study of the book of Ecclesiastes, this sermon introduces Solomon, the author of the text. Who was he? What was his place in life when he wrote the words of Ecclesiastes? What lessons had his father David passed along to him?
