The three parables of the lost sheep, coin and prodigal son answers the question "what is God like?" to some degree. He seeks those who are lost and when he finds them, He celebrates! As believers, we are called to be a part of finding the lost and celebrating with God when those same people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Esau traded his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of lentil soup. Peter asks what "lentil soup" are we trading our birthright for and not obtaining the Kingdom. By referencing "Renovation of the Heart" - Dallas Willard; "Matthew for Everyone" - NT Wright: "Food" - Rob Bell; "The Healing Presence" - Leanne Payne; "Waking Up to the Battle" - David Johnson; and "When Violence is Ok" - Matt Chandler, Peter was able to help us envision that we each need to reject something in our lives in order to gain the Kingdom.*There are two quiet times during the sermon.
