Today's sermon is for the disillusioned, to remind us that the currency of the Kingdom is faith; to remind us to believe in a God who gives big crazy dreams to His kids, who is with us, who provides for us, who shapes us, who protects us. Today's sermon is a reminder to all of us that we have a great big Dad who believes in us. Do you lack anything? No, you lack nothing!

As Christians we are often uncomfortable with bringing our disappointment, frustration, and anger to God in prayer. So often we fail to pray when we most need it. Psalm 88 is avoided by many preachers for this reason; it makes us uncomfortable. But who else should we bring these prayers to except the One who is in charge?

Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Why was Jesus baptized? If we're not careful we might think that Jesus was baptized for his own sake, like you and me. But this isn't the case. He was baptized for our sake.

The Bible's Giant Tales call for us, as hearers, to respond. Looking at the parable of the prodigal son (through Middle Eastern eyes) we see God's Giant Grace. Listen to this parable interpreted like you may have never before heard it!

We are timid because we forget. We forget what God has done in our lives. We were dead, walking in sin, following Satan, children of wrath. BUT GOD...mercy, love, kindness, grace. We are now alive, walking in good works, seated with Christ, and children of God. But how can we remember? References to Lord of the Rings, ISIS, and a child's view of justice.

Why are we afraid of sharing the good news of Christ? Perhaps it’s because we have trouble understanding what is going on in the evangelism process. This is part one of the two-part series on hope for timid evangelists.

Does God need our help?

God loves us so much that we learn to love by being loved by Him. We are sisters and brothers in the family of God. Jesus says, whoever hears the word of God and does what it says are his family.
