Be Strong is the common theme we have seen all throughout the book of Joshua. But what does that mean and how do we do that? Listen as we identify 3 keys to Being Strong from Joshua 11.

There are definately times when we make implicit, rebellous choices- choices where we say

Through the first 6 chapters of Joshua, the Israelites and Joshua have been completely victorious in everything: crossing the Jordan river, entering the land, dealing with God at Gilgal, the battle at Jericho. But in Chapter 7, we'll see Israel in retreat, we'll see 36 soldiers killed in battle, we'll see Joshua on his face before God filled with dismay. Rahab is mentioned 5 times throughout the Bible, and 4/5 of those times we are reminded that Rahab was a prostitute in the city of Jericho in the promised land. Yet somehow, God did a tremendous work in Rahab's life, and she is listed in Hebrews 11 as one of the Hero's of the Faith. She also is listed in Matthew 1 in the genealogy of Jesus. A casual reading of Joshua leads many to conclude it's merely a book of history of military records. But if we understand the background of what is happening in the book of Joshua, it will cease to be just a record of military feats, but it will be a revelation to us individually of what God can do in and through our lives as we trust completely in him. Here in Joshua chapter 1, we'll look at the qualities that are needed for God to use us in mighty ways.

For any number of reasons, many of us walk away from God or church. Reasons vary- but we stop pursuing God and start pursuing our own desires. The question is, how do we come back? How do we start over when we walk away? In Luke 15, Jesus tells a great story about how God RESTORES us when we've walked away from him.

Defining moments- everyone has them. Moments that have made us who we are. God has defining moments as well, but there are only two defining moments in God's eyes that define every single person who has lived or will live on the earth. Those moments were Adam's Trespass and Jesus' death and resurrection. Romans 5:15-17 contrasts these two defining moments, which leaves us to conclude that one defining moment is immeasurable greater than the other.
