God gives us philadelphia, that familial love that draws us together and out of our own self-interest, through Jesus. We live in that faith that loves as we journey through life.

Contrasting Mt. Sinai and Mt. Zion, we see on the one hand God's almighty power revealed as He gives his Law to his people through Moses. On the other hand, in Mt. Zion we see that heavenly home with God has graciously prepared for all who trust in him, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Our own journey of faith takes us from the severity of the Law on Mt. Sinai to that new and heavenly Mt. ZIon by way of Mt. Calvary, where on the cross Jesus rescued us from sin and death.

Faith encourages us to run the race set before us, giving God's people in Christ hope in even the darkest times

The faith that God gives shapes the whole life of the believer, providing support and guidance as it looks ahead to the fulfillment of God's promises
