We probably all remember growing up and going on field trips at school. With eager expectation, we’d climb on board those big yellow buses and head off for a day of fun and adventure…and the Christian life is no less exciting. That’s why, this year, instead of going on a road trip in June, we decided to go on a field trip – out into the mission field that surrounds us every day. What we will see during these four weeks is that there’s much we can learn from the animals in God’s good creation: lessons about living like Jesus lived and loving like He loved. The Christian life isn’t a classroom exercise; it’s a field trip. Jesus didn’t say, “Stay and learn,” but “Go and make disciples.” This series explores what it means to be prepared for the mission field: not just overseas, but across the street – dealing with the people in our everyday lives. “Birds of a Feather (parrots)” based on the scripture from John 17:13-19.
