What the Bible says about marriage, re-marriage and divorce has generated no small amount of controversy. Yet, the Lord has given us His word to examine these things ourselves. Listen and find out what God’s word says on this topic. 1. Marriage is intended as a life-long union between a male and a female (Mark 10:2-9) 2. Where divorce is not permissible, re-marriage is equivalent to adultery (Mark 10:10-12) 3. Divorce is permitted, but not required, in the case of sexual immorality (Matt 19:8-9) 4. Divorce is permitted, but not required, in the case of an unbelieving spouse abandoning a believer (1 Cor 7:12-16) 5. Those who have been divorced on unbiblical grounds, should remain as they are, or reconcile with their first spouse 6. Those who have divorced and re-married on unbiblical grounds, should seek forgiveness from the Lord, but should remain married (1 Cor 7:17-24)
