Church membership is biblical and therefore vitally important for every single Christian. Given that there are important biblical teachings that simply cannot be lived out without church membership, every single Christian should join and faithfully serve a local church.

Jesus is God.

Jesus has performed many works (including his miraculous “signs”) that mark Him out as the long-awaited Messiah. Nevertheless, many reject him because they are not part of His flock. Jesus’ true sheep are evident because they hear His voice, believe in Him, follow him and persevere to the end.

The Good Shepherd Died for His Sheep

Jesus is the good shepherd who came to lay down His life for His sheep, so that they might have life to the full.

Jesus is the light of the world, who has come to open the eyes of those who are spiritually blind.

All people are born in sin, choose sin, and are enslaved to sin outside of Christ. Jesus, who is God in the flesh, came on the world’s greatest rescue mission to free his people from this slavery.

Jesus is the light of the world who must be believed in (thus followed) for eternal life.
