Jesus is a priest according to the order of Melchizedek, which means He's an eternal priest who mediates a better covenant, which is able to save His people to the uttermost. Therefore, we can set our hope on Him, hold fast in difficulties, and have full assurance of our eternal wellbeing!

We are able to persevere in the faith once for all delivered to the saints because God has given us His Word, a promise guaranteed with an oath, to fulfill His great plan of salvation through Jesus, our eternal High Priest. Therefore, we can have full assurance even amid life's difficulties!

Through many will reject the gospel, repudiate Christ, and turn back to wordly ways, those who persevere in the faith will inherit the promises that God has made to them in Jesus. Therefore, believers have an unshakable hope in God's Word which we must cling to at all times and in every situation!

Isaiah declares that a child will be born who will bring light and joy to the people of God. That child will be our Everlasting Father. The glory of the gospel is that in Jesus, we become the beloved children of God. Therefore, we must delight in our adoption and live for His glory!

Christians are implored to hold fast to their confession and draw near to His throne amid difficulty because they have a greater and eternal High Priest in Jesus. Therefore, our confidence is to be bolstered by the reality of Christ's priestly work, leading to greater and greater obedience to Him.

Believers have a great high priest, who is transcendent, tender, and identifies with God's people; and yet without sin. So He can stand in God's presence and intercede on their behalf. Therefore, we are welcomed before the throne of God, this day, and every day, with total confidence that God is for us!

Fear is appropriate if you are not following Jesus with a sense of urgency. But believers can enter God's rest now and will enter it fully and completely in the future. And God's effective word motivates them to diligence as they actively pursue the glorious salvation God has promised for His people.

People who come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus will always persevere in hat faith, never fall away, and will ultimately enter God's eternal rest. Therefore, true Christians exhort one another on a daily basis to not be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin, but to continue to believe in Jesus!

Consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our salvation. Jesus is worthy of more glory, honor, and praise than Moses because Jesus is God, the one who made us; and Jesus is the Son who owns, rules, and provides for us. Therefore, we must hold fast to Jesus, our only hope of salvation!

Christ calls us to proclaim the good news of the gospel and to teach all that Christ commanded. This happens in the context of a local church. But it also means we must be willing to serve, sacrifice, and send out our best so that other churches might be planted!
