What is prayer? We do it often without thinking about what we're doing, but what really is prayer? When Paul tells us to "pray in the Spirit" he's telling us more about what prayer really is than we may realize. In this passage we learn why we should pray, how we should pray, and what we should pray for.

What is the armor of God? And where was Paul drawing this metaphor from anyway? We'll look at Isaiah 59 in order to draw deeper from Paul's reasoning behind Ephesians 6.

Ephesians 6:10-12 teaches we need to be strong in the Lord and put on the whole armor of God? Why? In order to stand against the schemes of the devil. Who exactly is the devil? And what are his schemes?

The writer of Psalm 88 struggles to find any hope in his situation and feels as if God is completely against him. Is this a biblical way to respond to a difficult situation? Is there any hope in times of darkness?

There are two big ideas that come out of this passage: The first is that this passage, while appearing to support slavery, actually undermines the entire institution- listen to this sermon to find out how. The second big idea is that there is a connection between first century slaves and modern day wage earners so the teaching from scripture does apply.

In part 4 of Paul's teaching on the household, the relationship between parents and children comes into view. How is a Spirit filled child to respond to their parents? How should Spirit filled father's lead their children in Christ?
