The sacrifices from Leviticus bring tension in our lives, show us how we should live compared to how we actually do live.

Nobody can earn God's love or even deserves it, but it is God's "good pleasure" to give it to us.

Luke 12:34

You can tell when you have been touched by grace. When we come to the realization of what grace has been given us, then the Gospel and being on mission becomes our most favorite thing.

The correct interpretation of Revelation 3:15-19 shows that the church of Laodicea were trying really hard to do the works to earn God's favor, trying to close the gap. Instead of closing the gap, resting in God's grace, thy were adding tension and pulling themselves further away from where God wanted them to be.

Is the peace offering, shalom, practical?

Paul tells us over and over that it is.

The reason for no peace is because we have fear.

As people of God we are called to live in God's peace, even while we still have anguish and frustrations.

The litmus test for the love of Jesus is sacrifice.

All of Leviticus (and the Bible for that matter) show us our depravity, and God's glory through the 5 different sacrifices that were needed to be done.

This was to point to when Jesus would enter history and die for our sins, fulfilling all of those sacrifices, once for all.

The greatest joy in life is intimacy with Jesus

Leviticus tells us to be Holy (Leviticus 20:26)

What does it mean to be Holy?

It means to be 'whole'.
