Esther chapters 9 and 10 describe the victory of the Jewish people over their enemies and the establishment of the holiday of Purim.

In chapter 8, Queen Esther and Mordecai secure a royal counter-decree from King Xerxes. This new order allows the Jewish people across the Persian Empire to legally gather and defend themselves against Haman's edict.

In chapter 7, Queen Esther hosts her second banquet for King Xerxes and Haman.

Chapter 6 shows us two points to remember "in the waiting". In our waiting, we don't know how our situation will change, and in our waiting, pride can be our downfall.

In chapter 5 we see Queen Esther risking her life by going before the king as part of a plan to request he spare her people.

Chapter 4 begins with a specific incident of the confusion from chapter 3: the response of Mordecai. Mordecai responds with the standard way of communicating grief.

The third chapter of Esther has a central theme of God's providence through life's injustices.

In chapter 2, we are introduced to Mordecai and Esther. As the story continues, we see that despite the sin and brokenness everywhere, God remains faithful to His people.
