Paul's response to his current circumstances serves as a testimony to the impact that the gospel has in the darkness.

Chapter 1 continues with Paul pointing out the church's partnership with the Gospel. Not only do we partner with the Gospel, but we also partake in its grace.

In many of Paul's letters, he writes to the church to correct them and warn them about bad behavior or teaching. But in his letter to the Philippians, he is not addressing any specific thing. This is a letter of encouragement and gratitude.

In this final chapter, this morning the preacher will once again pronounce life as “hebel.” But in the midst of the confusion, he will give us a warning: Don’t waste your life.

Chapter 7 begins with the preacher advising us to be sober, present, and wise. We must remind ourselves the reality of the world is that God is sovereign, we are not.
