Many of us struggle with the idea of tithing our money. What about giving 10% of our time? Our patience? Our love? What would happen if you were to test God on this commandment? Try it for one month, and see what happens next! 1 John 3:16-24
As the church seeks new paths forward, we ask God "When will things change?" How about now? NOW is the acceptable time. 2 Corinthians 6:1-13
It's a modern-day American delusion: every thing we have is due to our work. God says something different: it all flows from God. So why are you holding back on your blessings from God? Luke 12:13-21.
Pastor Karl shares some insights, lessons, and final thoughts and thanks as he leaves Shepherd of the Hills after 8 years of ministry. My peace I give to you.
As Washington was wrapping up his second term, he decided not to run for a third. The US, he said, was a grand idea ,and not about him. Being adopted into the family of God is a serious undertaking: we receive ALL the benefits of being in a "real" family, including our inheritance. And the Good News? You don't have to wait until you die to receive this gift of grace from God. Romans 8:12-17
The birthday of the church, Pentecost, was marked by the Holy Spirit uniting us as one people. That same Spirit that was present 2000 years ago is the same Spirit that is with us today.
When Jesus ascends (as told in Acts 1), we are left alone, but with a message and a mission. Guided by the Spirit, what will the people of Christ's church do in this world?
