In the midst of rebellion, Jonah is still bearing witness to the Lord. God raised him as a witness and his very person is a witness to the Lord.

Paul reminds us that God is revealing His glory in the midst of the Gentiles. What is this glory? Christ in you, the hope of glory.

When Jesus sees the crowds, “he has compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (Mt 9:36–37).
