We begin a new message series on Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians. In it, he begins his battle against syncretism – the joining of non-Christian beliefs with a false form of the gospel. Jesus’s love and resurrection counteract all the other voices.

Resurrection isn’t just a one-time event or just something we celebrate once a year. Resurrection is part of the new life and we should share what the new life that Jesus gives us is all about.

The message of the resurrection seemed like nonsense and an idle tale because we don’t expect death to be defeated. We need “rumble strips” to warn us of the danger of leaning back into death.
