Sermons – Temple Baptist Church of Rogers, AR

We have hope, in this life and the next, because of the redeeming work of Christ on the cross. This past month in Kids Time, our children were learning the meaning to the lyrics of the hymn, “Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery.” The first verse speaks of how Jesus “condescended” from heaven to earth to…

We are excited to welcome back Derrick and Michelle Bremer to Temple Rogers! Derrick spent several years as a member of our youth group when he was teenager. After Derrick and Michelle married, they reconnected with the church through a young-adult Christmas gathering. Through a series of inductive Bible studies with this young-adult group, Michelle…

In Acts 13:22, the Bible describes David as a man after God’s own heart—a man who was obedient to God’s will. Think about that for a minute… What do we know about King David and how he lived his life? There are many positive attributes and exploits that we could list here, but for just…

For the past two months, we’ve been focusing our time each Sunday morning on the prayers of the Bible. As we’ve studied these various prayers and the teachings in Scripture about prayer, we have learned several characteristics of effective prayers, such as the urgency and desperation that we need to have when we pray and…

The prayer that is recorded in Colossians 1:9-14 is a beautiful prayer that is chock-full of rich content for us to model our prayers after. This is the prayer that I asked our supporters to pray for us when we were serving as cross-cultural missionaries in Asia, and it is the same prayer that I…

In your community groups this past week, you talked about some of the reasons why God does not answer prayer as quickly…

This week, we will be looking at some of the prayers and teachings about prayer from Paul in his letter to the church at Ephesus. In his letter, Paul prays for the Ephesian believers “to be strengthened with power through his Spirit” in their inner beings. Paul was praying a Prayer of Fortification for them.…

In our message today, we’ll be focusing on the Prayer of Solitude. We’re going to examine a couple of passages in the Gospel of Matthew—one where Jesus is our example in prayer, and the other where Jesus is teaching us how to pray. One of the most effective ways that I have found to get…

In our message today, I want to explore some of the most audacious and grandiose teachings of our Lord during His time here on earth. Teachings so extravagant that we struggle to know what to do with them! How can our Lord Jesus say to us: “Ask, and it will be given to you”? This…

We are currently living in the midst of a great crisis in the Christian life. We have been legally emancipated from the penalty of sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. But many of us are still living as though we are slaves to sin. We are free, but we are not living daily in…
