  • Spiritual Depression - Psalm 42
The Psalms are much different from many of the songs that we sing in our church gatherings today. These songs are messy, filled with the writers emotions both positive and negative. We have much to learn from these psalmists about dealing with our emotions. As we see these writers deal with their feelings of loss, abandonment, insecurity, or doubt you can hear them reminding themselves about the faithfulness, works and attributes of God. This messy, up and down, back and forth line of thinking is much like our own. Join us as we walk through the murky waters of our own emotions seeking health from the only one who can provide, the God man Jesus Christ.

  • Songs of the Redeemed: Hope
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David" Luke 1:68-69 ESV. Advent is the coming of God to visit his people, not only that in Luke 1 and 2 we see that God is going to redeem them. At the hearing of this good news the people responded in songs of praise to God. Why would many of us feel removed from responding like this to the good news of Jesus’ coming today? Jesus’ first Advent must mean more than we realize. The fact that he came to redeem makes his coming again to make all things new all the more a reason for us to sing.

  • The Holy Spirit and the Church Pt.4
been around Veritas for any length of time you heard us talk about Jesus.... a lot. Before Jesus ascended to the right hand of the father he said we need the Spirit. In fact Jesus talked about the Spirit a lot. In this series on the Holy Spirit we are hoping to repair our broken understanding of the Spirit, deal with polarizations and confusion surrounding this often overlooked person of the Godhead. We may not know everything but we do know that Jesus said that it was better that he go so that the Holy Spirit would come. We know that we were not meant to operate without the empowering work of the Spirit. Finally we want to be people of God's word empowered by his Spirit. Getting to know/rely on/worship/thank God the Spirit should be our great joy until the day Jesus returns.
