Hello and welcome to the Veterans Day edition of Servant Warrior Radio. Jeff Searcy, here, coming to you from Servant Warrior Battle Station Headquarters, Southeast US, right here in St Augustine, Florida. In two days, we will extend our thanks and gratitude to generations of fighting men and women of the United States Armed Forces.

Another very important day…one that is on the calendar of the premier branch of the United States Armed Forces…is November 10. The United States Marine Corps celebrates its 237th birthday. Oorah! I can tell you that the Corps is as spry and ready for battle as it was 237 years ago when a group of motivated patriots got together at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, PA and formed what would become the most deadly and celebrated fighting force this world has ever known.

A few weeks ago we talked about repelling the enemy’s assault by fire (the weapons of God and the Full Armor talked about in Ephesians) and close combat (our interactions with others…how we handle the trials of this world and the struggles of life).

Last week we talked about locating, closing with, and destroying the enemy by fire and maneuver. about the warrior…the motivation…the commitment…the willingness to give his life for another. And I think you will realize that we are talking about the military warrior…and THE Ultimate Warrior.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. (John 15:13 NIV).

There is a powerful parallel between Christ’s words to His disciples and the brave men and women who serve in our nation’s Armed Forces.

The United States Marine Corps: "No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy."  One more thing…“If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven’s scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines.” To all fellow Marines, past and present…Happy 237th Birthday. Semper Fi. Ooorah!!

Our charge and mission as men of God…as Servant Warriors…as Christians…is right in line with that of a Marine Rifle Squad.

So in preparation…grab your Bible and turn to the book of Ephesians…the 6th chapter…verses 10-18…as we are going to be hanging there for a while…in fact for the next few weeks…so make sure to bookmark it…you will want to keep going back.

October means football – college and pro…pro basketball (of which I am not a fan) but they are back on the court…NASCAR is coming down to the wire…virtually every sport on the planet is in action during the month of October. But when we think of October and professional sports…the vast majority of sports fans think of baseball…the playoffs…the World Series.

But today, in honor of America’s pastime and the Fall Classic, we are going to talk baseball…but we’re going to talk about it a little different than you’d expect. of course, talking about things a bit differently IS what you've come to expect from Servant Warrior Radio. The message today, Middle Relief, is about getting the nod, from the true Head Coach…the Almighty One… to take the mound. You do not want to miss this one.

We're hanging out in Ephesians 6:10-18 today...one of my favorite passages in the Bible...and talking warfare this week and repelling the enemy's attacks by fire and close combat....just like a Marine Corps Rifle Squad. Our charge and mission as men of God…as Servant Warriors…as Christians…is right in line with mission of a Marine Rifle Squad...and Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us how to do that. In fact, I will be doing an entire series in the coming months on warfare and tactical responses, for Servant Warriors, based out of Ephesians 6. More on that later.

Today, we're talking about a multi-pronged & beneficial close combat tactical maneuver and one of the ways we locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver and repel enemy assault by fire and close combat. This tactic kicks the enemy's tail and hit him right where it hurts...
