Bob Woods served as Communications Manager at City of Gainesville for 20 years before retiring in October 2018. Bob has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Columbia College and a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and completed doctoral coursework in Mass Communications. Bob answered the call to become a minister in 2014, while working full-time for the City of Gainesville. In retirement, Bob’s days are filled with working for the ministry and serving as the Head Elder at Compassionate Outreach Ministries. He hosts a Sunday morning internet radio show “Sunday School before Sunday School” at 8:00 am every Sunday morning. He also hosts a mid-week Bible study internet radio show for that mid-week jolt of the Word of God, needed to get listeners over the mid-week slump. Bob and his devoted wife Karen serve as Coordinators of the C.O.M. Marriage Ministry, Sunday School teachers, Bible Seminary Coordinators and Special Events Coordinators. An Army veteran, Bob is a lifelong learner and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Theology. Bob’s passion is to teach and preach the Word of God.
