  • June 16, 2024 Sermon - Living With Anticipation

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    Living With Anticipation!

In 2 Peter 3:1-13, the apostle Peter provides a compelling reminder of the certainty of Christ's return and the profound implications it holds for believers.

He emphasizes the importance of remembering the teachings of the prophets and apostles, particularly in a world where scoffers deny the Lord's promises, driven by their own desires.

Peter highlights the difference between God's perception of time and ours, reassuring believers that what seems like a delay is actually God's patience, giving everyone the opportunity to repent. He vividly describes the sudden and transformative nature of the Day of the Lord, where the heavens will pass away, and the elements will be destroyed, urging believers to live lives of holiness and godliness as they anticipate the new heavens and new earth.

  • June 9, 2024 Sermon - The Serpent, the Sin, and the Savior!

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

The Serpent, the Sin, and the Savior!

As we reflect on Genesis 3:8-19, it is crucial to recognize how these ancient events speak directly into our lives today.

The passage highlights the reality of sin and its devastating effects on our relationship with God, each other, and the world around us.

Yet, it also introduces the hope of redemption through the promised Savior. For us as Christians, the awareness of our own sinfulness should lead us to a posture of humility and repentance. We are reminded of our constant need for God's grace and the importance of seeking His presence daily, just as Adam and Eve once did.

  • May 26, 2024 Sermon - With All Your Heart

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    With All Your Heart!

In this message, Pastor Swanson shares a message on the incredible need for Christians to love the Lord their God with all their heart and with all their soul and with all their might.

The message is based on Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

These verses are known as the Shema. The Shema is the central declaration of the Jewish faith, affirming the oneness of God and expressing the fundamental belief in monotheism.

It begins with the words, "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!" This prayer underscores the importance of loving God with all one's heart, soul, and strength, and is recited daily as a profound expression of devotion and commitment to God's commandments.

  • May 19, 2024 Sermon - No Time For Hiding

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    No Time For Hiding

Our text for today is taken from one of my favorite books in the Old Testament – the Book of Esther. The story of Esther has intrigue, danger, and a hero.

The Book of Esther unfolds in the Persian Empire, where Esther, a Jewish orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai, rises from obscurity to become the queen of King Xerxes.

Unbeknownst to the king, Esther is Jewish, and her people are endangered by a decree instigated by Haman, an arrogant royal advisor with a vendetta against Mordecai.

Mordecai persuades Esther to risk her life by revealing her identity to the king and pleading for her people. Exhibiting great courage, Esther skillfully intervenes, inviting the king and Haman to a series of banquets where she exposes Haman's plot.

The king, enraged by the deception, orders Haman's execution on the gallows meant for Mordecai and grants the Jews the right to defend themselves against their enemies.

The story celebrates Esther's bravery, the triumph of justice over conspiracy, and the deliverance of the Jewish people, which history commemorates in the festival of Purim.

The theme of this message is that God places us in specific circumstances with significant opportunities to influence and act according to His purpose.

  • May 12, 2024 Sermon - A Call To Persevere

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    A Call To Persevere

In Jude 17-25, believers are reminded of the apostles' warnings about scoffers who would challenge their faith in the last times, urging them to remain steadfast in their holy faith through prayer and love for God.

Jude encourages the community to show mercy to those who doubt, to save others by snatching them from the fire of deception, and to hate even the garment stained by fleshly pursuits.

The passage concludes with a doxology, glorifying God who is able to keep them from stumbling and present them blameless with great joy before His glorious presence.

  • May 5, 2024 Sermon - The Certainty of God's Judgment

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    The Certainty of God's Judgment

Jude's admonitions are not mere historical footnotes; they are critically relevant today. Each of us plays a crucial role in maintaining the doctrinal purity of our church by being rooted in Scripture and astute in our evaluation of various teachings.

We are to commit to regular Bible study, engage actively in our community's discernment processes, and pray for the wisdom and boldness to address falsehoods not only with correction but with the life-changing power of the Gospel.

  • April 28, 2024 Sermon - Worth Fighting For

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    Worth Fighting For

The phrase "contend earnestly for the faith" is a powerful exhortation to actively and vigorously defend the core truths of Christianity.

This involves more than passive belief; it calls for an active, deliberate engagement in preserving and promoting the gospel amidst challenges and distortions that may arise. The word "contend" suggests a strenuous effort, similar to that of an athlete in a competition, implying that maintaining the purity of the faith might involve struggles and opposition.

  • April 21. 2024 Sermon - The Myth of Neutrality

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    The Myth of Neutrality

In our present times, which are marked by uncertainty and seemingly prophetic events, our role as Christians is not merely to observe but to actively participate in God's kingdom work.

Just as we prepare for seasonal changes by equipping our homes, we must also fortify our spiritual lives against the inevitable challenges of faith.

This includes deepening our understanding of Scripture, engaging more fervently in prayer, and fostering stronger bonds within our church communities.

As we witness the world around us change, our preparation should not stem from fear, but from a desire to be effective witnesses of Christ's love and truth. We must embrace our calling to be light in increasing darkness, which means stepping out of passivity into deliberate and faithful action.

  • April 14, 2024 - What's Your Perspective?

    This Sunday's Inspirational Message is:

    What's Your Perspective?

In the span of a lifetime, often benchmarked at 70-80 years, we can find ourselves caught up in the immediacy of daily concerns and worldly pursuits. These temporal preoccupations, though pressing, can distract us from a more profound, eternal perspective that Scripture demands that we have as Christians.
