  • Sesli Denemeler - Classic Public Domain Poetry, "I heard a Fly Buzz-when I died" by Emily Dickinson

    I heard a Fly buzz - when I died -

    The Stillness in the Room

Was like the Stillness in the Air -

Between the Heaves of Storm -

The Eyes around - had wrung them dry -

    And Breaths were gathering firm

For that last Onset - when the King

Be witnessed - in the Room -

I willed my Keepsakes - Signed away

    What portion of me be

Assignable - and then it was

    There interposed a Fly -

With Blue - uncertain - stumbling Buzz -

Between the light - and me -

And then the Windows failed - and then

I could not see to see -

  • Sesli Denemeler - Classic Public Domain Poetry, "This is My Letter to the World" by Emily Dickinson

This is my letter to the World

    That never wrote to Me—
The simple News that Nature told—
    With tender Majesty

    Her Message is committed

    To Hands I cannot see—
    For love of Her—Sweet—countrymen—
    Judge tenderly—of Me

  • Sesli Denemeler - Classic Public Domain Poetry, "I'm nobody! Who are you?" by Emily Dickinson

    I'm Nobody!    Who are you?

    Are you nobody, too?
    Then there's a pair of us -- don't tell!
They 'd banish us, you know.

     How dreary to be somebody!
     How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
     To an admiring bog!
