The Captain's Couch

Session 19 - "The Wounded Boy Becomes the Wounding Man"

Listen Later

This week on my soft, spacious couch, I continue the discussion from last week's talk about emotional labor, I discuss what vulnerability is.  I give a little insight into my development and my comfort with vulnerability.  I discuss Dr. Brene Brown's work on the topic and reframe what strength really is.  I also disucss why it is important for black men to take off our cool and learn to embrace vulnerability.  This week, I break down Lawrence's inability to be vulnerable which led to 2 failed relationships during session 2 of Insecure.  Shout out to Let's Talk Bruh podcast for the resources.
