The year is 2380. The end of the Dominion War has allowed the Federation to restart five-year journeys of exploration within the Gamma Quadrant, thanks to the surrender of the Dominion. 

These are the voyages of the U.S.S. Columbia (NCC-10707). An Intrepid-class vessel, named for the sister ship of the original U.S.S. Enterprise, she is tasked with exploring the unknown reaches of the Gamma Quadrant.
