The Captain's Couch

Session 20 - #BlackBoyJoy

Listen Later

In this week's episode I recline on my couch and rest my back, I continue to try to chip away at toxic masculinity and continue the discussion of being vulnerable.  This week, I discuss #blackboyjoy and why we as black men need and deserve to show the joy in our lives.  I break down how society and white supremacy has worked to steal the joy of black boys and men by demonizing our joy.  I also discuss reasons we might deny ourselves joy and ways we can work to grow into our fully deserved happiness.
