Yes, I had to say goodbye with a smile and give you a big happy hug. I must admit I did it only to support the cause we agreed upon and help you depart knowing that the project was worth it!

Yet inside I was sad and lonely and the echo of the door closing behind you was still lingering in the air and my heart was already missing you. Tears were rolling down my cheeks to water down the realization that your absence was very hard on me.

I cling again like a shadow on a wall. Keep revolving over the same spots, tripping on the same stones, and generally making a sad story of myself, while crawling my way back to where the light shines.

If you don't mind, please hold that light higher so it can be seen from far, so I can see from where I now stand.

Incidentally, I say! You laugh!

Then we laugh together as it makes no sense!

You lead, I lead, who cares?

Pass me, let me take you over, who cares?

We're heading in the same direction, together.

Deeper, melancholic, and sullen. Yet strangely comfortable and at least it is the place I know. Even in total darkness, I know my way, my spiral way down.

I was fighting to keep my attention between the book I was reading to you and your eyes.

Because the way you were looking at me, stole my soul and captured my heart.

I have to admit! It caught me by surprise when I saw it rising and filling all with light! It was a calm festive night and well, it was time to go!
