Today’s lesson deals with setbacks to one’s faith. I once read the story of a boy who was rescued after a terrible incident at sea. His rescuers found him clinging to a rock. They asked him how scared he had been. He replied: “I shook all night, but thankfully the rock did not move.” Can we find a firm rock in our times of trouble and in the setbacks of life? The Apostle Paul wrote that troubles can lead to perseverance, character, and hope. What is the firm basis for hope? Today’s lesson will look into this.
