The Phenom Investor Blueprint

Seven Steps to Successful Living, Ep #20

Listen Later

In this episode of the Phenom Investor, Matt shares seven steps to successful living that will help you build your business as you strengthen your character. Life is full of uncertainty and events that we cannot control, but Matt focuses on the areas of life that we can have an impact on. While life stresses can easily become overwhelming, implementing the following steps into your daily routine will help you overcome the stress by taking responsibility for what you do have control over.

Building your phenom blueprint

Matt explains that who you are on the inside directly affects what you accomplish in the world. Understanding and taking responsibility for your "phenom blueprint" will help establish who you are in the business place as well as at home. It all begins with acknowledging who you belong to and who has ultimate control over your life.

1. Start every day with praise!

Showing gratitude and gratefulness to God at the beginning of every day places you in a posture of worship that can continue throughout your work and tasks for the day. God has gifted you with the very air that you breathe. Dwell on the ways that you have been blessed. A positive mindset will have a huge impact on the way you approach your responsibilities.

2. Make the first move!

A proactive life is one well-lived. Living in a reactive state robs you of the authority you have to take control over your actions and decisions. While God is the One who should guide you in all your decision-making, you do have the responsibility to take action. Be a go-getter and be diligent in your work. Identify what needs to be accomplished and act to meet those needs immediately. Matt explains that procrastination only leads to further anxiety. While some responsibilities are painful, leaning into the adversity and taking action will reap reward. Don't put it off - begin now.

Embracing who God made YOU to be

Matt encourages listeners to live life authentically. God made you to be you - not someone else, so embrace your differences!

3. Take the life-long journey of self-discovery and mastery

Discovering who you are, what makes you tick, and what causes you to fall can be an intense experience. Mark Twain said that, "The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." Be honest with yourself and embrace the journey of not only discovering your purpose - but mastering yourself as well.

4. Accent your differences and hide your similarities

Be you! You were created to be genuinely unique by the God who created you for a unique purpose and mission. While we have been trained by culture to highlight the similarities, be proud of who you are and what you stand for. Have pride in what you believe and share your passions and gifts with the world. Embrace the special talents and gifts that God designed you to use. Live a life rich with authenticity.

Focusing on what truly matters

Life is full of distractions - at work and at home. Keeping your focus on the ultimate goal and trusting that God has you where you need to be can help you overcome the roadblocks that litter life.

5. Keep your eyes straight ahead on what lies ahead

Don't let obstacles stop you on the road God has set you on! Life is full of deception, and you will make wrong turns. But Matt reminds listeners that God uses trials and unexpected difficulties to strengthen His children. God will lead you. Keep pushing forward and don't let the unexpected keep you from taking action.

6. Work out hard!

Staying fit in both body and mind builds endurance for all that life has to throw at you. Matt encourages you to push yourself. Go sweat in the gym. Exercise your mind through constant learning. Educate yourself and strengthen your body. Be prepared for the unexpected both physically and mentally.

Creating the foundation for successful living

These steps for successful living can be difficult to achieve and make habitual. Matt explores the importance of keeping your "why" as your foundation.

7. Faith focus, and family

What truly matters to you? What is your purpose for living, working, and overcoming? While you can't control what happens in your life, you can control your attitude! Be still and know that God is who He says He is. Keep your "why" always in front of you and take responsibility for your attitude and actions.

Matt explains that all of these steps can be implemented into your life - despite what business you are in. While money is important in business, what truly matters is the foundation that you are building your business on - the phenom blueprint that is you!
