Daniel had prayed for his people, but the answer to his prayer was completely unexpected. God chose to reveal to the seasoned prophet His plan for the nation of Israel. The Hebrew people would certainly be allowed to return to their land, but this was just the beginning. God would also deliver the people from the bondage of sin and usher in everlasting righteousness. Release from the oppression of men would await the Second Coming of Christ.
