Needs tweaking!

This story was actually too long, given the full title: "Sex in the Elevator: A Public Sex Erotica Short". The title conjures an image of two (or more) people getting together and getting down to business. And given the "constantly in motion" nature of elevators, I'm expecting quickie.

Instead, we spend about half the time learning all about Jade and her sexual history. At one point, we're told that in college, Jade meets a girl named "Tami," so now we're thinking we're heading for some girl-girl action, but Tami is not mentioned again. She seems to have no relationship to the story and doesn't need to be in it.

The actual elevator is intriguing and offers a number of possibilities. It's on the exterior of the building and has "a glass wall so that people in the elevator could enjoy the views of the mountains and the ocean." Jade is on a date with Timothy, and they take the elevator to the top floor restaurant where they have dinner. After which, the elevator action begins... and this is where the story should have begun.

A good story does not need to meet a certain word count. The very title of this one advises us that it's a "short," so nobody's going to have a problem with a brief, hot, heavy encounter. It's elevator sex. Don't bore us with pages of character background... slam her up against that elevator wall and take us into the action!

Some minor structure work was needed as well. There were run-on sentences in places. And possibly, the book was just titled poorly, and thus I gave the author the benefit of the doubt and upgraded my review from three to four stars.
