I've watched men spend 70,000 dollars on treatment, come home, and relapse the same week. Why? Because they were solving the wrong problem. Rehab can pull a man out of his life for a month, but recovery has to happen in the exact place where he actually relapses, at home, at work, in his marriage, in the quiet moments nobody else sees.
In this episode, I'm going to explain why most men don't need rehab for porn and sex addiction, and what actually builds lasting recovery instead.

6:00 What structure actually needs to be built into
ā QUESTIONS ANSWEREDĀ
Do most men need rehab for porn addiction?Ā
No. Most men need structured recovery built into their real life, since relapse almost always happens at home, not in a treatment facility.
Why do men relapse right after leaving rehab?
Rehab removes stress and access for a month, but never teaches a man how to handle real triggers in his own house, job, and marriage.
Is porn addiction really about sex?Ā
Usually not. It is often an emotional escape from stress, loneliness, boredom, or shame, and porn is simply the fastest exit available, which is why fixing the emotional root matters more than fighting the behavior alone.

If you're close to leaving, I'm not going to tell you to stay. But before you make that decision, there is one thing almost nobody tells women in your position. What looks like narcissism is often something very different underneath, and understanding that difference could change everything about how you move forward. Many wives spend years trying to figure out whether their husband is simply incapable of caring about them, when the real answer is much more complicated than that.
In this episode, I'm going to explain what is really going on behind a husband's lying and secrecy, what it does to you, and what actually determines whether a man like this can change.

3:02 Can a man like this really changeĀ
3:36 Why stopping is not the finish lineĀ
4:15 What to say before you decide to leave 4:59 Stop making his recovery your job
ā QUESTIONS ANSWEREDĀ
Is a husband who hides porn use a narcissist?Ā
Not always. Many men hide their behavior the same way addicts hide substance use, out of shame and fear, not a lack of care for their wife, and understanding this distinction matters because it changes what kind of help he actually needs.Ā
Can a man addicted to sex or porn actually change?Ā
Yes, but real change means more than stopping the behavior. It requires him to become a more honest, accountable, emotionally present partner over time, and that transformation usually only happens with structured professional support, not willpower alone.Ā
What should I do before deciding to leave my husband?Ā
Set a clear boundary that names the need for real professional help, mean it fully, and focus on your own well being while you wait to see if he follows through. Give yourself permission to prioritize your own healing regardless of what he chooses to do next.

Are you addicted to sex or porn, or do you just have a high sex drive? The answer has almost nothing to do with how many times a day you do it. Six questions will tell you the truth, and most guys already know the answer by question three.
In this episode, I'll walk you through the six questions I use with clients to tell the difference between a high sex drive and a real addiction, and what your answers actually mean.
ā±ļø TIMESTAMPSĀ
0:00 High Sex Drive or Porn Addiction? Here's How to Tell
0:18 Question 1: have you tried to stop and couldn'tĀ
1:03 Michael's story: 20 years of broken promises to his wifeĀ
1:53 Question 2: how much planning and hiding is involvedĀ
2:48 Question 3: has it escalated over timeĀ
3:53 Question 4: are you lying to cover your tracksĀ
4:39 Question 5: "this is the last time" and David's journalĀ
5:28 Question 6: the restless, irritable, discontent feelingĀ
6:19 Why you're chasing relief, not sexĀ
7:09 The tally: what your answers actually mean
ā QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Q: What's the difference between a high sex drive and a sex or porn addiction?Ā
A: A high sex drive slows down when you decide to slow down, even if you don't love it. Addiction keeps going no matter how many times you try to stop, and it usually comes with planning, secrecy, escalation, and lying to cover it up.
Q: How do you know if you're addicted to porn?Ā
A: Ask yourself six questions. Have you tried to stop and couldn't, does it require planning and hiding, has it escalated to more extreme content, are you lying about it, do you keep promising yourself "this is the last time," and do you feel restless and on edge until you act out again. Two or more yes answers point to addiction rather than a high sex drive.
Q: Why do people relapse on porn even when they aren't turned on first?Ā
A: Most men chasing porn aren't actually chasing sex, they're chasing relief from stress, loneliness, or discomfort. Porn becomes the fastest way to make that restless, irritable feeling go away, which is why the urge can show up even without arousal coming first.

She's checking your phone at midnight. She seems fine at dinner, then furious two hours later. You quit the porn, so why isn't the relationship getting better? This confusion is one of the most painful parts of recovery, and it does not mean you are failing.
In this episode, I'm going to explain why quitting porn is not the hard part of rebuilding trust, what is actually happening in your wife's nervous system after betrayal, and what two things have to be true at the same time before trust can genuinely come back.
ā±ļø TIMESTAMPSĀ
0:00 Will My Wife Ever Trust Me Again After Porn Addiction?
0:35 Why quitting alone isn't enoughĀ

2:05 Why sobriety can make her feel worseĀ

4:04 Why her mood swings so fastĀ
5:07 The real answer after hundreds of casesĀ
5:44 The sentence that has to disappear completely 6:12 A real client's story from the driveway 7:23 Where you want your marriage in 12 months
ā QUESTIONS ANSWEREDĀ
Q: Will my wife ever trust me again after a porn addiction?Ā
A: Yes, trust can come back, but it takes longer than most men expect and requires two things happening at once, real sustained sobriety and genuine changes in how you show up in the relationship every day.
Q: Why does my wife still seem upset even though I've stopped watching porn?Ā
A: Once the behavior stops, the adrenaline and distraction she relied on disappear, leaving her to fully feel years of pain for the first time. This is a normal trauma response, not proof that recovery is failing.
Q: Why does sobriety alone not rebuild trust?Ā
A: Sobriety without real personal change often still leads to lost relationships because trust depends on consistent honesty, accountability, and emotional safety over time, not just the absence of porn.
