Publisher's Summary:
Lola Sexton is the writer behind Sex Says, a successful relationship column at the San Francisco Times. She's a pro at advising others on their love lives, but if there's one thing she isn't in the market for, it's love. Reed Luca is a wanderer and a jack of all trades. He doesn't believe happiness comes from a nine-to-five job, or that success is delivered through a paycheck. But opportunity often finds its way to those who aren't looking. When Reed signs up to write an anti-Sex Says relationship column, the result is all-out war.
Members Reviews:
Sadly lacking.
I loved the Billionaire Series and always look for more books by this group of authors. I was expecting to laugh out loud at least once. Don't hold your breath. Hold on to your money. Narration is bad, too, which doesn't help. Still LOVE the other books though, and have listened to them more than once.
Can't stop laughing
I love this book so much that Even on my shits day I reread and now replay it. If you want sex life and funny ass comment this is your book
Can't Get Enough
Max Monroe as another delightfully written audiobook.
When Reed makes a video of himself giving a tart response to Lila of her Sex Says newspaper column she explodes.. especially when she finds he as already received over 300,000 views... in one day!
She hates him.
He has yet to meet her....
Enjoy watching the sparks fly.
Max Monroe is by far my favorite author.
I look forward to each book and cannot wait for more!! I always find myself laughing out loud.
Good angst-free read
Overall, I think I really liked the concept of this book. It dabbled with THE Rivals to lovers trope, which I absolutely LURVE and had a super interesting heroine that wasn't a heroine I was used to reading. A big plus for me. Even Reed was really sexy and confident at times and I loved the banter between them a lot. However, sometimes I thought the hero was too aloof for me. He was so obsessed with doing the unexpected that it really hurt how I saw him as a character. The heroine was more than he deserved at times, putting up with him not being able to keep a job and even helping him get a job, which c'mon ladies, is going above and beyond.
I could have easily given this book a 5 had it not had been for some ableist and transphobic comments sprinkled in there that I wasn't prepared for. Otherwise, it was a light and angst-free romance if angst isn't for you. For the 2 days I spent on it, I was entertained. The narrators were great!
