Cute but no surprises

Serial Monogamist, Mitchell, takes a friend's bet that he can't have a fling; and Serial Dater and journalist, Julie, takes an assignment to write about entering into a serious relationship.

Both of them move out of their comfort zones but find, together, they're exactly where they're supposed to be.

This was cute but totally predictable: relationship starts out casual, each keeping deal-killer secrets from each other. Stakes are raised when they fall for each other. The secrets are revealed. They break up but still miss/love each other. Then there's a grand gesture by one or both of them and they get back together for good this time.

The book was short, too--it ended at 79% on the Kindle app.

There's two more books in this series that obviously deal with Julie's two co-worker/friends. However, I'm betting those books follow the exact, same formula as this one.

Easy vacay read.

I LOVE THIS AUDIBLE!

Amazing story. Full of feelings from bad to good to amazingly beautiful. When I listened to the love scene it had me breathless then in a heartbeat I was laughing only to have it leave me in tears from the tenderness and love you could, for those who have true love., relate to on a personal level. I've never had a book make me feel lucky to be alive and loved. Thank you for that.

The narrator is excellent with a soft sexy voice that brings emotions into the story bringing it to life.

A Great Book That Took Me By Surprise!

I really enjoyed the book from the first chapter. The characters were relatable and you really felt for them. The book made me laugh and gush but it didn't go overboard with soppiness. Best of all, it kept my attention.

Cute sweet little romance...

This audiobook was a sweet romance about a police Officer in a small town who is having trouble sleeping, so his boss makes him see a psychologist. The heroine is finishing up her training before taking her final tests to be a psychologist and getting her own practice. She has a lot of clients in this small town where everyone knows everyone else.

Fantastic Reads!

My most favorite books. I love the BWWM billionaire romance novels. These books were so romantic and full of drama. The writing was really good and I enjoyed these books completely.

Wonderful book

I thought the book was very good I didn't care for his wife and her evil crazy mother he took to much crap from both of them would of been told them kick rocks everyone should take time to read you will enjoy from start to finish.

Stupidity mixed with a hot mess.

The writer was watching some crazy soap opera while eating flaming hot Cheetos when she wrote this.

The male protagonist hired a girl to be his daughterâs nanny, but in less than a month, he got the stupid girl to sign a contract agreeing to be his live in lover. Her best friend called that situation what it is: prostitution.

Stupid girl notices a stranger in the park. Stranger in the park then shows up on the front door waving a birth certificate and driverâs license while claiming to be the dead wife before she busts into the house. Instead of doing the smart thing, you know like calling the police, the girl calls the man. When he gets there, she wants to play jealous instead of being worried about the stranger roaming the house while she was hiding upstairs. So, not only does she prostitute herself, sheâs also lacks self perseveration skills and the ability to prioritize.

Now for the man. Heâs just as stupid as his girl. So the ex-wife he said was dead, but who in reality ran off with his former business partner, shows up out of blue one day saying she wants to come back after the other man had left her is downstairs in his office.

Hmm, what do you do in this situation?

Do you a. Welcome her back with open arms until she can get back on her feet or b. Kick that heifer curb with a lusty shout of, âBegone, bitch!â to make sure she understand how much her duplicitous behavior makes you wish she really died.

A smart person would choose option (b) because:

1. She was trifling heifer

2. She most likely stole from him in past

3. Sheâs still trifling

4. Sheâs still that trifling heifer that that cheated on him and walked out on her child.

Who would let that kind of person near their child? Thatâs going to mess with that babyâs mind and leave her with abandonment issues when she grows up.

I could not take it any more. I had stop reading when the man invited his trifling heifer of an ex-wife to move into his house.

A wonderful finale to Dev's Bollywood series

There is always a danger when you are waiting anxiously for a book that it won't live up to your expectations. Sonali Dev set the bar incredibly high with her previous books and there is always that worry that the next one will be a weak link in the chain. Fortunately, Dev is better than that and this book is an excellent conclusion to her Bollywood series.

First things first, this is not a standalone novel. It really is necessary to read the previous book, A Change of Heart, before starting this one as the plot actually begins in that book (and it you really should read The Bollywood Bride before A Change of Heart. It isn't necessary to read the first book in the series, A Bollywood Affair, before reading the others--but you really should because it is awesome!).

I will say that I had a minor issue, completely of my own making, between these two books. Rahul is introduced in A Change of Heart, and I pictured him completely differently than he's presented here. This is not Dev's fault--nothing in her previous book contradicts how his character develops here. Instead, it was what I put on him in the previous book. The fact that I recently did an audio re-read of A Change of Heart and the narrator used a much older sounding voice for him didn't help. Again, this wasn't a problem with the book, but something I had to adjust to. Once I got used to him, I really enjoyed Rahul. I found him to be much deeper than we usually see with romance heros. I have to admit that I fell a little bit in love with him--not that I want Kimi out of the way, mind you!

Kimi, oh Kimi! I need to start this by saying that I adored her--but I'm not sure I can describe her in a way that doesn't make her sound a little annoying.

Great story, great characters you root for, solid narration. Everything you want from an adult contemporary romance and more. Savannah is a very romantic setting and the author takes full advantage. The daughter as a comic foil is really great.

Fun Listen!

I really enjoyed this listen. It is fun and unexpected and for adults. The premise of the story is reminiscent of a television show, but the characters are very endearing. I enjoyed the various distinguishing voices the narrator performs. The story is a standalone listen and part of a series. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

DIY Passion

PASSION PROJECT - DIY Series Book #2.

This is an adult romance. I'm not saying that it's graphic, but a few situations are for the more mature listener/ reader. Jack and Marly meet at an audition for a DIY show. After that things go on a merry chase. There are plenty of twists and turns that keep the listener wondering what will happen next. This book ended leaving plenty of room for another book.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Kelley Hazen is amazing!!!

Fantastic Standalone Sequel

After losing her husband 10 years ago, Marly's been raising her two kids and working at a construction company to support them. When she loses her job she's forced to think outside the box and auditions for a new DIY show in Savannah. At the audition, she meets the producer, Jack, and he immediately rubs her the wrong way. Jack is trying to get back on his feet with the new TV show, and things don't run smoothly. The irritation between Jack and Marly turns to attraction, but their pasts aren't going to let them move on so easily.

I really enjoyed this romance! It's the sequel to A Building Passion, which I loved, and included the characters from that book. It doesn't end on a cliffhanger and could be read as a standalone. It's a steamy read and the location made it even better! The DIY show gave it a really refreshing angle. Jack and Marly were great together, and I loved their interactions and conversations. I especially loved the kids. Jasmine's flashes between loving daughter and budding rebellious teen were so well written and believable, she just leapt off the page. There were plenty of times the dialogue had me laughing out loud.

The narration was really well done, Kelley Hazen performed distinct voices for each character. She just pulled me into the story and kept me listening til the end.

Enjoyable read

I have not read a Jenkins novel in years and this series is going to be fun. As always her characters are fully formed and credible. After all the mobsters, pimps and venture capitalist I've encountered the citizens of Henry Adams are a refreshing change. The theme of redemption is strong and woven into each character's scenario but isn't overwhelming.

The foster children are a true to life and it is important that their stories are not sugar coated. Most of us won't encounter a sixteen year old with a matter of fact approach to sex like Bernadette's charge. Our young adults are exposed to sex earlier these days but Crys has a history that will knock you side ways.

I am loving all the dysfunction and look forward to the unraveling of each new novel in the series. Author Susan Elizabeth Phillips recommended this series on her Facebook page. I expect a lot of people will be joining me in this journey. I recommend it to anyone with children be they natural born, fostered, adopted or borrowed. The insights are revelations.

Second Chances

In this sequel to Bring on the Blessings, we get to know the original characters better and we're introduced to a few new characters as well. We find that the foster kids are thriving; growing and developing as they bask in the love that surrounds them. Two of the major themes are second chances and trust. It seems that quite a few characters in the book have come to the realization that not only has Henry Adams been given a second chance, but so have they. They've been given a second chance at love, a second chance at family, a second chance at finding out who they are and being true to themselves. And to my sheer delight they take complete advantage of their opportunities. This is such a heartwarming book that I am still basking in the glow that has been with me since I finished it. The themes of unconditional love and acceptance that started with Blessings continue in A Second Helping and as a result we see strong bonds and trust being formed throughout. I really enjoyed Ms. Jenkins use of symbolism especially in relation to Amari and his dreams. Henry Adams, Kansas is truly my idea of a utopia. It is a place where I would love to live. Can I please be transported there now?

amazing little town! big adventure!

I have read all of this series. I feel the characters are like family. I am pleased with every book in this series and can't wait for another one. I have purchased the books on my kindle and in paperback for friends and family. Thank you Beverly for sharing this this amazing little towns big adventures! Read the series, you won't be disappointed.

I think for more than half of it my heart was in my throat, the tears were welling in my eyes, and my heart felt like it was in a vise, but every now and then there was a smile too... fair warning this one packs a serious emotional punch!! It was such a joy to watch these two re-discover what they lost, and I'll admit at times I wasn't real impressed with Brandt's behavior, but little by little he found a way to redeem himself, and by the end the man had stolen my heart! Of the three installments I have to say I favored this one the most, it had an emotional depth I wasn't expecting, and I feel like I took so much more away from it...

A Path of Self Discovery

I absolutely love finding out what makes a man tick...especially an man whose been bruised and broken by a violent past. Shame is no different. He loves Mace unconditionally but often times he questions himself. He wonders if he will be a good man, good provider and ultimately wonders if situations from his past will come back to haunt him. More so repeat themselves with his life with Mace.

He's gearing up to take the biggest step in his life, but before he can do that, he must reflect on his own life. I loved talking this walk down memory row with Shame. I understand so much more about the man he has become and the man he ultimately wants to be. I felt heart break and pain as well as the moments of his happiness and clarity as he remembers the life he had and the life he wants..

AC Bextor continues to be a master story teller. She has a brilliant way with her words to make one feel every ounce of hurt, heart break and happiness.

Alpha male finds his soulmate...

While not technically a Callahan, this audiobook is about Aiden, the best friend to Lexi, who we met in a previous story. While at Lexi and Ians wedding reception on New Years Eve, hes feeling depressed because hes jealous of everyones bliss. He heads out to a bar, where he sees a woman sitting alone and tries talking to her, but she brushes him off. Finally he staggers out, drunk, and she keeps him from driving and takes him to her home to sober up and sleep it off. She has no idea that hes a really wealthy man and he doesnt tell her. As he pursues Mary, Aiden comes to realize that hes found his soulmate. Now he just has to figure out how to tell her his secrets and the fact that hes a Dom. Narration was excellent.

Definitely 5 stars

This was a great story (Series). Can't miss by having Aiden Snow narrating.

Fantastic Duo

Abbie Zanders books are wonderfully written with great character depth, emotions and plots. I would recommend any of her books! Aidan Snow does a beautiful job on narrating her Callaghan series. He is able to bring her characters to life and tell her stories that keep you engaged throughout the whole book. This is a fantastic team!

Can't wait for the next story

I gave the story a 5stars but wouldn't light up the last star. Keep them coming Abbie.

it was wonderful to see the family from an outsider .. i love how he was supportive to lexy and ian so to see her do the same for him was BEAUTIFUL ... i love mary ..she is another strong woman who has seen enough for a life time ..so these TWO together make a beautiful happy ending ... he will truly l9ve and take care of her .. awesome .. worth the read ..

I have to write this review with mixed emotions as Zander and AnnaBelle are technically the last of the "Rocker Who" couples. This series has covered nine couples that are a part of the actual bands of Demon's Wings and Other World plus a few other couples mixed in that are series regulars (like Linc) that we know and love. This series has been one of my favorite rocker romances and always a go to recommendation for anyone that likes the genre. I have read and re-read this series I don't know how many times so even though there is technically one more book in the series, I am so sad one of my favorite series is "done for now".

We met AnnaBelle in the previous book when Bre was injured and learned that she grew up with the members of Other World in Tennessee. Anna also manages bands but seems to be a more politically correct version of Emmie yet she still is as tough with her clients and takes no crap from anyone. Anna had to grow up in less than ideal circumstances which forced her to adapt to her surroundings and at times make use of a steely backbone. At seventeen years old her entire world changed when the man/boy she loved left her and never looked back, so how can anyone expect her to be civil to him when she is forced to be in the same room as Zander Brockman again.

Zander is the so called "last man standing" in the band that hasn't fallen for a woman. He thinks it's comical how all the guys have fallen one after another while he has sat back and watched the show. Zander realized rather quickly the only reason he isn't one of the fallen is because he left his heart in Tennessee seventeen years ago with the girl he loved. By no means has he been a monk over the years but he is definitely the least likely to wake up with a stranger. Now that he has seen Anna again it is like his heart has started beating just for her and he will stop at nothing to get her back. Circumstances exist that may stand in his way but Zander is determined to keep his promise that he made all those years ago.

While this book is a bit different from the other Rocker books with about a third of the book being told in the past it did not deter from the story at all.
