This week is the 6th anniversary of the horrific Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida. It was an attack that left 49 members of the LGBTI community dead, with most also part of the Latin-X community. We remember them.

It is within that shadow that we tonight discuss the dark side of racism – but this time, within our own community.

The LGBTQIA+ community is a diverse mix but not always a cohesive mix. Numerous studies and countless personal experiences have demonstrated sexual racism inside our community. Discussing sexual racism against Asian gay men, tonight we are joined by Dr Gene Lim from Monash University and the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University.
