So here are some myths about writing a book. Myth number one, you can't make any money from book sales. Well, I personally make multi-six figures purely from book sales. Now, I'm not saying that those results are typical, and you write a book and you're going to do the same. But people do make a lot of money from book sales.

You need a publisher or a book agent. Now, we all know that's a thing of the past. You can self-publish, and I'm going to show you some of the tips and tricks there. You need to be a great creative writer. Now, you know, I almost failed English class and Literature class. I was good at some of the techie stuff. The maths I was not too bad at. But the writing, I was just terrible. And you do not need to be a fantastic creative writer. You just need to know what you're doing and express your story.

It's difficult or takes a long time to write the book. The book that you have in your bags today, my book, The 1-Page Marketing Plan, I wrote that in literally about 30 to 40 days. Now, I was working crazy days, 12, 18-hour days, and I don't necessarily recommend doing it that way. But otherwise, I would have just procrastinated for two years before getting it done. I just smashed it out. So, you can write a book in a very compressed time frame.

You have to have an original or groundbreaking idea or content. Now, I don't know if anyone here has read my book. But the vast majority of the ideas in the book are not my own. And I say that literally in paragraph number one. I did not invent direct response marketing. It's a book about direct response marketing. I did not even remotely invent any of those. I was a collector of the best ideas out there and I spun it into my own framework. I put my own framework on top of it. But I did not invent the valuable ideas that are in the book.
